October newsletter

Peter writes:

Welcome to this Covid version, with so little racing this year, there is little to report. Casualties were the Chris Braiden 10 TTT and 14 of the Club 10s. The committee have decided to cancel this year’s Reliability Trial and Prize Presentation evening.

Club 10s
These took place in July and August under strange conditions, but they were very popular as they were one of the few races to run. We had 25 to 30 riders most weeks, mainly from guests. We had many messages of thanks from guests, congratulating us putting on a well organised and safe event. Riders enjoyed fast times most evenings given the good weather, most events were won with times of 20 or 21 minutes.
Our club 10 championship was run on 6th August, contested by 8 members with Peter Wilson the winner.
The Club League championship was shared by Michelle Walter and Peter Wilson with 7 points, Third was Matt Blythe with 6 points.
Crow Cross 2021
This is one event planned to run next year on 17th January 2021. This year we be the organising club and Peter Fairbank will be calling on helpers to join thoses from the Jubilee, Poole Wheelers and New Forest CC to make the event the success it was last year when we had 300 plus riders from the Wessex region battling it out over 8 events. The January event will be scaled down to be Covid compliant.

Strava Trophy
We launched this trophy last year for all you Strava users. All you had to do was post all your rides on Strava. Winner for 2010 was Patrick Lockyer.

2020 Trophy Winners
The committee have awarded the following trophies:

Club 10 Champion – Peter Wilson
Club League Winner – Michelle Walter and Peter Wilson
Strava Trophy – Patrick Lockyer
