The Bournemouth Arrow Sportive

16th May 2010

The family may demand a day on the beach but your summer could kick off with the real challenge riding through the 3 Counties of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, taking in the 3 Climbs up Win Green, Bulbarrow and Milton Abbas, enjoying the panoramic views of distant Somerset from Dorset’s highest point Bulbarrow, the picture postcard view of Milton Abbey School Playing Fields on the way down and the model village of Milton Abbas going up the climb of the same name.

The 100 mile ride gives you all three climbs and the 75 mile route just the one, but take a look at the profile and you’ll see suspicious looking spikes on both routes just waiting for you.

Starting in Wonderland (it’s official), the routes take in South Ripley, Poulner, Alderholt, Rockbourne, Stratford Tony, Ebbesborne Wake, Fontwell Magna, Fiddleford, Hilton, Winterbourne Stickland, Tarrant Rushton (home of “The Cliff” ) Gaunt’s Common and Woodlands before returning to Wonderland (and it will be!).

Either route will take you on quiet roads and through secluded villages around beautiful Cranborne Chase, tried and tested by Bournemouth Arrow Club riders who invite you to come and share the experience.
