Welcome to the Bournemouth Arrow Cycling Club new web page. The Club was founded in 1927 in the Bournemouth area to take part in all forms of cycling.
Now we take part in all
forms of cycle sport (Road Time trialing, Road Racing, Track
Racing, Cyclo Cross, & Mountain Biking.) Organising and
Competing. We also partake in social riding and weekend rides.

Club Championship 10 & 25
Next weeks club 10 the 3rd July will be the Championship event the club 25 championship will be on the Wednesday 9th July at Lytchett Minster.
GHS South DC Final & Club Evening 10. 26th June 2008
This Thursday night the club ran the South DC
Heat to qualify for for the national final. The Event was won by
Jonathan Dibben I Team CC with a time of 23:16 an impressive
time considering the condisions of the night it was a strong
westerly cross wind and most riders in the following club event
about a minute slower than previous weeks and almost a minute
improvement on his previous best.

Open 25 Sunday 1st June 2008
This years annual Open 25 on Sunday 1st June at Lytchett Minster. The event was being run by Louise Burman.The event was well supported and we were very lucky with the weather only 5 miles away in the east it was raining very heavily causing many riders not to turn up, but the hole course was dry with only a few light spots of rain just before we started.
The events was won by Ben Instone www.scientific coaching.com with a time of 51:19 not bad considering he was complaining of not feeling well. He still won by over 2 minutes. The ladies was won by Julia Shaw GS Strada (Pinarello, Rudy Project, Afford) National Ladies 10 mile Champion with a time of 57:34.
It was a good morning with 17 improvements. One of which Eddie Fryer Manx Road Club a former member of the Bournemouth Arrow who moved to the Isle of Man back in 1980 making his first visit back to Bournemouth since. His ride 1:8:10 giving him an improvement 4:35 second best improvement. On the Isle of Man the still have dead turns and no dual carriageways.
Many thanks to Louise for continuing to
run the event even though she is no longer a club member. Also may
thanks to all the marshals time keepers and other helpers.
