Club Roles

This list represents the jobs that typically need to be done and the people who normally do them.  In any year, there is some flexibility to interchange tasks according to the skills and availability of the individuals concerned, and to absorb new tasks as they arise.

Committee Posts

All committee posts Attend monthly committee meeting
President Encourage participation in club events;  Chair AGM and Committee Meetings; Represent the club at landmark events
General Secretary Organise and minute Committee Meetings and AGM; Prepare Annual Committee Report; Provide point of contact for general correspondence and enquires
Treasurer Pay in/Issue cheques and monies as instructed by the Committee; Manage bank accounts; Manage club membership list and financial records; Prepare annual accounts; Point of contact for financial correspondence, membership enquiries and British Cycling HQ.
Competition Secretary Organise competition programme; prepare event paperwork; publish event results; maintain competition records and league results; allocate winners of club trophies
Club Captain Develop club runs programme and any annual reliability trial. Organise marshals for annual sportive (currently in liaison with UKcyclingevents)
Volunteer Recruitment Officer Recruit volunteers and coaching team; maintain club mailing list; Maintain Clubmark and Go Ride accreditation status and manage associated records and paperwork; represent club at Clubmark and Go Ride  events and seminars;
Coaching & Development Officer Identify Club Development options seeking Funding as required; Organise club training sessions at BCC and Calshot and facilitate the delivery of individual training and advice; represent club at DCDG, coaching events and seminars as required.

Publicity Officer Promote intra- and extra- club communications; Maintain website; Disseminate information on club activities; Prepare press briefings, flyers and other material to promote the club and club events
Youth Development Coach Organise and lead Youth Development Programme.
Welfare Officer Promote and manage adherence to club welfare policies
CTT Rep Represent club at Cycling Time Trials (CTT) regional meetings and annual date fixing conference. Disseminate CTT notices. Order CTT handbooks.
BC Rep Represent club at British Cycling (BC) regional meetings and disseminate associated notices and information.
Cyclo Cross Rep Represent club at Cyclo cross-related meetings and disseminate associated notices and information.
MTB rep Represent club at MTB-related meetings and disseminate associated notices and information.
Clothing Manage club clothing stock; Issue clothing to members; Liaise with supplier on re-orders & returns; Maintain stock and financial records.
Trophies Maintain insurance records of club trophies and current holders; Organise collection of trophies at year-end and re-engraving with names of new winners; Arrange storage of unused trophies.
